HRFC’s Rugby Field and Facility Campaign

Rugby is not just a game, it’s a family. A brotherhood. We are asking you, as part of our Rugby Family, for help.

Harrisburg Rugby Football Club (HRFC) has been without a permanent home for more than 45 years. We have been nomads our entire existence.

HRFC had a goal that was initiated many years ago by our Old Boys. The goal was to find a permanent home for HRFC. About 18 months ago, the Club formed a Futures Committee and began a serious search for suitable acreage. We are very excited to tell you that we recently identified a parcel of land that we believe would be a great fit for the club’s new home.

Our vision for this property is a long term plan that will result in a rugby facility that will house between two and five pitches. There will be ample parking for players and spectators. The fields will have permanent goal posts and lights for evening practice. There is a large barn on the property that we intend to convert into our Club House. The Club House will eventually have showers, changing rooms and a kitchen. The entire facility will be used for fundraisers, recruitment, tournaments and community activities. The plan is aggressive and bold – much like our HRFC guys and girls!

Our club has set aside money over the years for the purchase of land but we need additional funds to secure and develop this property. This is where you, our Ruby family, can help.

Please FOLLOW THIS LINK to visit our club’s GoFundMe campaign page to learn more about our vision and to make a donation to further our cause. Every donation, no matter what size, is greatly appreciated and will be put to excellent use.

If you would like to set up a recurring donation, please FOLLOW THIS LINK to set up automatic monthly donations.

Through the process of updating and collecting valid HRFC member information, the Board of Directors and Futures Committee is requesting that all HRFC past/present participants and past/current members complete the following survey: CLICK HERE. Even if you are no longer actively playing, this is information will help us build our alumni list and grow our communication abilities for the future.

Thank you for your cooperation, consideration, and generous support.

West Shore Boys

West Shore Boys Compete National Championship Tournament

Congratulations to the West Shore United Boys Team and Coaches!

Coach Sean Robinson sums it up: “The West Shore United Boys Rugby Club traveled to Charlotte, NC this weekend to compete in the High School Boys Rugby National Championship Tournament. Twenty four of the best teams in the Nation received invitations to the tournament to compete in three divisions. West Shore United competed in the Tier 1 Club Division. In our first match we played the #9 team in the country, the 15-3 Missouri State Champion, Kansas City Jr. Blues. We defeated them 32-21 to advance to the semi-finals to face the defending National Champions, The Royal Irish of Indianapolis. The boys played their hearts out, but fell 30-12. The Royal Irish went on to win the National Championship by defeating Granite Bay of Northern California in the finals. West Shore United finished in 4th place to equal our best finish ever at Nationals.

I want to thank all of you that helped to make the trip possible with your generous donations. We couldn’t have done it without your support. Thank you so much!”
